Who says Scarves are meant for the neck?

I had this scarf for a while. It is a gift (courtesy LaMadChic). However, I never really opened up and checked how big it was. I kept working it on my body and wrapping it on and around me, used up accessories, like the snowflake brooch (Another gift, this time from my husband) and it worked wonders. I loved the way it draped and fell.

The Art of Layering 1: Simple Elegance

Winter is on its way out, and I would feel the need to remove a layer or 2 with the passing of the coming days. Its cold, and then gets warmer with day  and cold again. NY is unpredictable. Things are better down south and also in the west coast, so I hear. SO I have been busy thinking how can I layer up with what I got, and share it with you. DO let me know what you think.

Colors are back

I had stopped using color on my nails mostly because I thought of it as messy, and time consuming. Until sometime back, when I realized that its actually the other way round. If you love colors, then this is the easiest way to own it.Its the easiest way to carry around the colors on you.

I recently picked up these 3 nail polishes, and then, of course I wanted to share them with you :) I must!

Tell me what do you think of these colors?

Green Eye Green Nails

As the Trend on glitters got back, i landed up at a nearby store to pick up my favorite color in glitter. Green. However, this is no ordinary glitter, it has a beautiful jade green base with white and black dots in it, which are of different sizes. One sweep of the brush spreads them all over you nail. I thought it was quirky and sober. However, a word of caution: Though its extremely easy to apply, removing it might be a bit of task. the Jade base goes away quite obediently, but not the dots.

Glamglow

A new product. Its glam, and it makes you glow. I washed my face applied it, and then kept it on till it dried, while I clicked some pictures (you can see them below) washed it of, and there you go. No allergic reaction. No dryness. Just bright clear skin! And so smooth to the touch.

Its gonna be used and has a permanent place in my cupboard. And that fragrance, that makes it even better. I give a full thumbs up for this product. What do you think?

Be careful with the Duo

If you were wondering that I am probably blessed with that great skin whom every product in this world suits, then well, I would request you to hold that happy thought right there. My skin gets dry, sometimes sensitive and its verrry hairy! And hence i keep looking for products that would take care of that. Waxing and threading is painful, and leaves my skin red with occassional blisters, while bleaching over a period of time has made me feel that I have probably more facial hair than I should have. Of course there are home remedies like rubbing an scrubbing a mixture of chickpea flour/ wheat flour mixed with some oil and milk on your face. thats no doubt effective, my grandma did that and she has fabulous skin, but honestly, I dont think i have the patience. I want something quick!

I am a huge fan of Olay total effects, So when the Olay launched their Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo I was extremely excited. However, on application (which was last summer) i thought there were hair remaining behind, in-spite of following all the instructions to the tee and as I kept on applying the product over time (the frequency kept on reducing) I realized my skin felt more sensitive with each application. And then arrived the climax, last month before I started for a trip to Vermont, I of course didn't want to look like a furry bear and uses this product. I developed bruises around my mouth (that's where I used it) and then thank goodness that I could keep my face covered due to the extreme cold weather there, or it would had been one of those moments of my life when I don't want to face anyone.

So my take out of all this is, its better to stay away from this 'Duo' if you have sensitive or dry skin.

PS: I was using the one for coarse to thick hair.

Claudalie Divine Oil

I again picked up the smaller bottle that comes or $9 as I didn't want to spend too much on the product before trying it. I first used it on my neck and I must tell you that my neck felt so much smoother. i also used it this morning after washing my face, and I still do not feel the need for a moisturizer. This is surprising as this product is actually so dry and disappears so quickly on my skin that you almost feel that the product is gone and you need to apply more. but over a few times i realized that you need a little bit and that goes a long way.

However, I must also add that though it is great, i still do not feel the need to supplement any of my current products with it (or may be that i just have too many products!)

Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream

I picked up only a sample size. I have been eying his product or a while and what excites me the most is that it has all the ingredients to perk you up, and so common sense applied it should do that for our eyes too! So after spending a bomb at the store, picked up this free sample of this eye cream, and used it on.

It is very good if it has to be used under your make up. It has light reflecting properties that brightens up the area surrounding our eyes, and reduces puffiness considerably. You really need to apply very tiny dot on each eye, which means it lasts quite long too. it smells good and I think its very good for a morning after a late night. It gives a very flawless finish to the make up, especially if you are planning to opt for a subtle eye make up.

Origin Clear Improvement Face Mask

I tried the new Origins Clear improvement face mask, which comes in 1.7oz and 3.4 oz tubes for $16 & $24. I got the bigger tube. I don't really have problems with oily skin but i do have open pores and once I tried this product my skin looked fresh, and pores less visible. I usually use it after a warm shower, and keep it on for about 10mins or so till it dries up and then i was it away with lukewarm water or sometimes use a sponge. As the product is made out of charcoal, I don't really use a muslin cloth or towel. But this mask definitely clears up my skin, however, I did feel a little dryness on my skin after washing it off, so I usually follow it up with a moisturizer immediately.
