We were in Washington DC this weekend. We were hoping that we would be able to see full bloom, but I guess there is another week to it. However, bloom or no bloom, it was all so pretty, that we didnt really mind it. We reached late afternoon and grabbed some burgers, and then stared walking around the park all evening. It was slightly chilly though and I had to later get back to the car and put on a trouser. And the reason for staing back, fighting against the cold was to see the spectacular firework for the Cherry Blossom festival. We ended the day with a bite from the fish market. i thought it was like finding a hidden treasure. Extremely cheap, but fresh and delicious.
By the way, just in case you would like to know, as we didn't, and many other tourists didn't know it too, that the firework actually takes place next to the fish market and not at the Tidal Basin.

In 'Fusion' - Tea
I think infusion is on top of my mind right now. First the infused oils and now tea. 2 most consumed things of my life. Now, lets get onto the tea, shall we?
Infused Hot Tea
I love the spa like treat, that's why I keep buying these scented candles, a bundle of toiletries and drink cups and cups of tea. Different kinds, but yes, tea. Today I tried something on my own.I do make these once in a while, by sometimes adding a stick of cinnamon or sometimes a little honey.
This is the easiest recipe ever. Take a cup and fill it with water, drop in a tea bag that you like, I used Earl Grey, but even mint would be great! Added few peppercorn, may be about 10, about 5-6cloves, a tiny piece of lime, 3 thin sticks of cinnamon a tablespoon of honey (for that 'un' sinful dose of sweetness) and then put it in the microwave for a minute and a half. And you are done. Burn a candle alongside, that you love and get into a warm bath. You'll love it!

In 'Fusion' - Oil
I love infused oil. I use it in everything, salads, pastas, breads, marinade, herb substitute or sometimes just frying that omelet. Here are a few of my favorite kind of infused oils that I make over and over.
-o- Basil Infused
1 and a 1/2 cup olive oil and about leaves of fresh basil.
Take a few leaves in a mortar and pestle along with a tbsp of oil and grind it. Put it back in the oil. Take the remaining leaves, bruise them and put them back in the oil.
Store for a week.
-o- Red Chilli Infused
1 and a 1/2 cup olive oil and about 8-10 red chillies.
Take the oil in a pan, crush the dried red chillies and heat the oil. Make sure the chillies doesn't burn. Once cool, strain and put them back into the bottle, with additional 3 red chillies.
Store for a week.
-o- Lime Infused
1 and a 1/2 cup olive oil and rind on an entire lime. Keep a pinch of the rind aside.
Take the oil in a pan, add the rind and heat the oil. Make sure the rind doesn't burn. Once cool, strain and put them back into the bottle, and add the remaining rind that was kept aside.
Store for a week.
-o- Spice Infused
1 and a 1/2 cup olive oil and about 8-10 black peppercorns, cloves and 1 bay leaf.
Put the bottle of oil in the microwave and heat for a minute and a half. Put all the spices in.
Store for a week.
Enjoy!

Something Borrowed
"The origin of boyfriend fashion is literally borrowing and wearing a boyfriend's clothes—
his distressed jeans, his band tees, his dress shirts, his blazers, his cardigan" Source
I borrowed mine from M. Little big for me, but fits so comfortably, and specially on a
breezy sunny spring day.
It feels so snug to be inside that jacket. Just like a warm hug <3

Rebellious Me
I was never a rebellious child. No huge problem bringing me up. But I had these rebellious streaks since childhood. While I was speaking to mum today, she suddenly reminded me of this incident when I was 4years old. I used to learn to dance. I was sent, because, my grandmother one day saw me dancing by myself, and she herself being an artistic person thought that this flair should be pursued by training. I was sent to a dance school.
So mum recalls, one day when she was on her way to pick me up from the dance school, she saw this big crowd outside the dance school. It was on the ground floor of a cottage, open space. She was definitely mortified, thinking of all the possible bad things. Then as she walked close and reached, walking through the little crowd, she saw that the dance instructor was playing a music with his musical instrument and vocals and I was dancing. Alone.
Later it seems the instructor, semi-complained to mum saying that I refused to dance with others, on a music not chosen by me. I wanted things my way. At age 4!
So I believe even if we look like the perfect miss-goody-two-shoes, we all have a rebellious side to us. So whats your rebel story?

Grunge Glamor
I am liking grunge these days. the dark kohl eyes gives a certain amount of sexiness, a dark sort of seductive look.
Do you think so too?
I think the best thing about this look are the eyes. Dark kohl on my upper and lower lids. This works particularly well with hooded eyes.
